Ever since The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D got remastered for Nintendo's portable 3DS, fans have been asking the company (and series creator Shigeru Miyamoto) if they would consider giving the same treatment to its much stranger, almost cult-classic-status sequel, Majora's Mask.
Well, it may have taken over three years, but Nintendo announced today that The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D is headed to 3DS (and 2DS and New 3DS) systems in Spring 2015.
When the Wii U released in November 2012 (could it really be almost two years ago!?), one of the criticisms levied against the console was the GamePad's laughably short battery life, which clocked in at just about three hours. So, when Nintendo, in December 2013, released an extended battery for the Wii U GamePad, I was curious. Was Nintendo planning to sell this "premium" battery all along?
Watch_Dogs tries to be many things to many players, but it hit its stride (for me, at least) when it let me lay low, plan my moves carefully, and avoid being spotted. In other words, when it stopped trying to force me to shoot a gun and let me be a cyber spy.
Finally! As announced on the PlayStation Blog today, Minecraft: PlayStation Vita Edition has a release date, and it's next Tuesday, October 14, 2014. If you haven't been following the saga, this might seem like such a big deal, but it's actually been a pretty long and winding road to get to this point.
Nintendo has announced today that Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker has an official release date: December 5, 2014. This comes after Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, but I think it's easily the more exciting game of the two. Here's why.
In what's apparently a week full of themes hitting handheld consoles for the first time, Nintendo has released their latest OS update that brings support for custom themes (as well as a few other bells and whistles).
Here's a photographic roundup of what you can expect when you update!
The PSN Blog has announced the most significant PS Vita update in quite some time, and it's now live to download!
Since the early days of Mario sprinting from left to right on the NES, running has been a staple in a video games. And yet, each new generation of consoles brings with it more detailed and beautiful environments. So why, then, do game developers still insist on designing game systems around running past all this beauty as quickly as possible? How did we get here? And, more importantly, should we slow down?
Like many other Club Nintendo members who achieved Platinum status last year, I recently received an email with four special codes to download an early copy of the Super Smash Bros. for 3DS demo (the extra codes are for your friends). This demo will be available to everyone on September 19, but I took some video to give you a sneak peek!
UPDATE: So the rumors were true: Microsoft bought Minecraft for $2.5 billion. However, the good news, at least for now, is that the Vita version appears to be safe.
Original: Reports and rumors have been flying this week that Microsoft is in talks to acquire Minecraft studio Mojang to the tune of $2.5 billion. The most concerning thing, though, is that it may impact the fate of the yet-to-be-released PlayStation Vita port of Minecraft, which many have looked to as the perfect portable version of the game.
Telltale captured the world's attention with its first season of the episodic, narrative-based game, The Walking Dead, so it likely surprised no one that it managed to warrant a second season. However, it was probably more surprising that their next game would feature a completely different (and easily less well-known) property, the graphic novel Fables. Check out my review to see if this fairytale-inspired series stacks up to its zombie-infested predecessor!
Check out a gallery of pictures as I built out one of the latest in the LEGO Ideas series: LEGO Ghostbusters! I also share some thoughts on the build and the overall package.
One of Nintendo's early promises with the Wii U was that the eShop would be home to great independent (or "indie") content. We saw some decent efforts at launch, but what's happened since then? This post explores a few of the more recent titles that could be worthy of your Wii U's hard drive space.
Activision confirmed today that the next, Kevin-Spacey-filled Call of Duty game, Advanced Warfare, is not scheduled to release on Nintendo's Wii U console. Astute readers will recall that the last two games did make appearances on the system. Is this the ultimate bad news for the House of Mario?
Check out my photo journal of Gen Con, "the best four days in gaming" set right here in Indianapolis, IN. It was my first time attending, and I had an absolute blast exploring the non-video side of gaming. Also on display: excellent cosplay!
